I also think that our play calling suits our match up with you guys. We run a ton of draws and screens, and lately more fly sweeps/misdirection. Against an aggressive defense if we get past the first line those are big plays...key word if. We also usually run north/south out of our sets...not a lot of sweeps to the edge out of the I. Again, against an aggressive/fast D you want to run right at them not wide.
I agree that 'SC made some tactical mistakes. Play action is a big part of their offense, and they love to run the boots and roll outs. Unfortunately, a fast defense like ASu's will eat those types of plays up. Ditto for the trap plays 'SC kept trying. As good a coach as Carroll is, he really could have gameplanned ASu better. I still don't understand why he didn't bring more pressure given that Osweiler is a TR FR and had limited experience.
